Our pupils have the opportunity to become part of various groups within school to offer suggestions and shape events in school. These include: School Council, House Captains, Junior Road Safety Officers and School Ambassadors. Click on the links below to find out more.
A big welcome to our two newest Junior Road Safety Officers – Mila-Rose and James .
They will take the lead on promoting road safety within school and learn about various road safety topics including school crossing patrols, parking issues, road signs and seat belt safety.
Our School Council meet at least half-termly to talk about charity fundraising events in school and any other pertinent topics coming up that term.
Autumn 2024 – here are our newly-elected School Council pupils for Years 1, 2 and 3.
In Class 1 George has been elected, in Class 2, we have Devon, Isabelle G and Darcie, and in Class 3, Lily and India have been chosen by their peers to represent the children of Burton Salmon.
For this school year, the following children have been chosen as Captains of one of our four new houses, named after local rivers:
- Bromley – Captain of Aire
- Ashton – Captain of Ouse
- Jake – Captain of Calder
- Ayva – Captain of Wharfe
- Jessica – Vice Captain of Aire
- Gracie – Vice Captain of Ouse
- Macie – Vice Captain of Calder
